Welcome to the Dour Festival Campsite page!

As you already know more and more of you want to camp at the festival each year! However some problems in the campsite over the past few years have lead us to rethink the way things work especially with regards to cleanliness and environment. We very much would like to count on your personal engagement and pride over those 4 days of fun!

The campsite will open on Wednesday July 14th at 4pm.

The local authorities forbid us to open the campsite earlier, which means there is no point in trying to arrive earlier! The Camping Desk will closed at midnight on Wednesday, and will re-open on Thursday at 9am. For the rest of the festival's duration the camping desk will be open from 9am until midnight every day.

If you have a one day ticket + camping, you won't be allowed in the camping site on Wednesday. Only those with a 4-day combo ticket will be granted access on that day.

If you have a THURSDAY + CAMPING ticket, you will be allowed in from Thursday 10am
If you have a FRIDAY + CAMPING ticket, you will be allowed in from Friday 10am

If you have a SATURDAY + CAMPING ticket, you will be allowed in from Saturday 10am
If you have a SUNDAY + CAMPING ticket, you will be allowed in from Sunday 10am

You must leave the campsite on Monday July 19th at noon the latest.

We would like to ask you to please take back everything you brought along when you arrived. The festival's campsite is not a dump! Thank you!

When you arrive at the festival site the first thing to is go and get your combi wristband that gives you access to the gigs and the campsite.

From then on the following services will available to you:

  • free W.C.
  • free bin bags
  • kindergarten
  • showers costing a drinks ticket or 2.20?)
  • free running water
  • medical services open 24/7 (doctors, nurses, ambulances, medication...)
  • a kitchen zone "cooking islands"
  • bakery, shops, bars...
  • cooking zones
  • a recycling zone (with sorting bins)

There will be lights in the campsite but there won't be any electricity points.

To gain access to the campsite you MUST have a wristband that allows you on both the camping and festival sites (4 days of festival + camping ticket). There will be only ONE wristband which you will get once you exchange your ticket at the festival entrance. We strongly advise you to buy your ticket in advance. Make sure you buy a 4 days of festival ticket including camping.

Buying tickets on the Festival site is more expensive than during the pre-sales. (see webpage tickets). For the campsite, the wristband is available on the spot only.

For your safety

Please follow the security service members' recommendations at all times. When putting up your tent, for security reasons such as fire, you must respect the paths between the camping plots. The tents in the paths will immediately be removed.

Fires, barbecues, generators, stoves... are strictly prohibited. You'll find zones called "cooking islands", where you can do your cooking in each campsite near the bars. The service is run by the Young CSC, who have been running it since 2003.

Mobile homes

For security reasons and in concordance with the security service's instructions, mobile homes are not accepted any longer in the campsite.

During the 2004 and 2005 festivals we received a very negative evaluation of this zone by the authorithies, in terms of security. We advise you to find other options.

If you still want to come in a caravan or mobile home, here are some addresses near the festival site.

On Dour campsite, I can/can't... ?

Campers can't trade. Selling food, drinks or anything else is strictly forbidden, no matter how good your business plan is.

The festival takes place on meadows which are home to Dour's cows. This means that no bottles, no glass and no cans are admitted.

On the campsite, you will, of course, be able to find food and drinks of course.

What can I bring on the campsite ?

  • Food cans YES
  • Plastic bottles YES
  • A sandwich YES
  • A can/tin opener YES
  • A very little knife YES
  • A little camping stove YES However, we recommend you use the cooking islands to heat any food.
  • A guitar/djembé/other little instruments YES songs about your ex-girlfriend are not permitted)
  • That summer feeling YES
  • A big knife NO
  • Metal cans NO
  • Glass bottles or cans NO
  • A big camping stove with a big gas cylinder NO
  • A barbecue NO
  • A generator NO

  • Loud music NO
  • The Christmas spirit NO

Pets

It is forbidden to bring your dog or any other pet. Any pet found on the campsite will be taken by the pound to the owner's expense.

Music

Loud music is forbidden. Surely there's enough music playing elsewhere?!

Barbecues

For fire prevention, it is forbidden to make a fire outside the "cooking islands", the authorized zones.

Little camping stoves are admitted and approved by firemen, except if the weather is really dry, but we recommend you use the cooking islands anyway. Any flame is potentially dangerous. Domestic gas cylinders are forbidden.

Security, theft

We are doing our best to prevent theft and accidents. Nonetheless, camping is your own responsibility and the organisers can't be held responsible for accidents and/or stealing.

In order to prevent theft, keep your valuables on your person at all time (money, mobile phone...).

If you think someone is acting suspiciously, please cooperate as much as you can and inform security agents who will be circulating on the campsite. The Federal Police have an office at the Festival entry 24 hours a day.

No cars on the campsite

For security measures it is not possible to enter the campsite with your car, even to unload it. You can park your car directly in the carpark and take your things to the campsite by foot.

Big tents are allowed. But cars or other motorized vehicles are not, so thank you for having suitable means of transportation for your things (such as a wheelbarrow for example ...).

Trailers are not allowed as the entrance is too narrow.

Camping fees
